LG Urbane 2 First Android Smartwatch with cellular: According to latest news and Google’s press materials at its big android event back in september, LG is launched its new Smartwatch, claiming to be the first Android Wear device with Cellular Capability, doesn’t need to be paired with a smartphone. It will launch with the name of LG Watch Urbane Second Edition, which is now official.
LG planned to start selling the LG Urbane sequel in US and Korea first, with paln to launch in Europe in the coming months.
Update: The LG Urbane 2nd edition LTE smartwatch went on sale in US, via AT&T and verizon, but now has been cancelled with no timeline for it to go on sale again because of unspecified hardware issue. So, we don’t know when we will see the Urbane 2 in US, Europe or elsewhere. LG explained that the issue is related to “a new advanced component” that the company was using in a wearable for the first time.

LG Urbane 2 : Design and battery
The stainless steel Urbane 2nd edition measures 44.5mm in dia with thickness of 14.2mm. That is more than 3mm thick than the original Urbane, but in this edition battery has been boosted from 410mAh to whopping 570mAh.
Its hardware setup is bit different to the usual Android smartwatch arrangement, LG urbane2 has three buttons on the right side to provide quick access to things like contacts, LG health and apps list. A quick press of the crown button fires up the new Ambient mode, which is designed to extend the battery life.
The strap is a durable, which looks trendy and rich, hypoallergenic TPSiV elastomer band available in four different colour variations: Space Black / Opal Blue / Luxe White / Signature Brown.

The display of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition has been improved. It’s a 1.38-inch full circle P-OLED, 480 x 480pixel, that’s an impressively sharp 348ppi.
Running courtesy of a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 768MB of RAM, the Android Wear 2nd Edition Urbane packs the 4GB storage.
An optical heart rate monitor is built in which new LG fitness features such as guided workouts and stress-level monitoring are included.
LG Urbane 2: Price and release date
The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition was set to be launching in the US and Korea first, in November, followed by markets in Europe, CIS, Asia and the Middle East. US customers were able to buy it from AT&T and Verizon.
But – as we mentioned above – this smartwatch is now cancelled indefinitely due to hardware issues. We will update this story when we get any confirmation from LG that when this Watch Urbane 2 is going back on sale.It was on sale for a hefty $300 in the US, or $199 with a $10 monthly data plan from AT&T over 20 months.
