Hardware and performance
BlackBerry Leap has the same processor like BlackBerry Z10, 1.5GHz Qualcomm snapdragon S4 dual core processor and 2GB RAM. BlackBerry has optimised it’s operating system for the device, it takes minor delay in transition animations and at the time of app load. The active pane supports 8apps at a time, user can run 8 apps in background.
The smartphone comes with 16GB internal storage and a microSD cardslot (expendable to 128GB). It comes with great battery of 2800mAh, which can standby up to 16.5 days, and offers up to 17 hours talk time,this can be counted as one of the best advantage in all BlackBerry Leap Specifications. This phone has one of the best battery backups among phones in this range. Sound quality of the phone is quite good, it offers loud stereo sound output.
BlackBerry leap runs Blackberry OS 10.3.1, it’s a latest version of BlackBerry 10 operating system. The basic structure remains the same. The Ui is divided into hub, app panel and active pane. It stores messages, notifications.

Phone’s touch panel to be very responsive. An HD screen and it’s resolution look fair to this BlackBerry device, but now a days a lot of competitors are in market, android one plus one and MI4 come with 1080p screen in similar price range.
Design and build
In terms of design, Blackberry leap is similar to blackberry Z3, this device looks like a rectangular glass slab with shape corners. It is made of plastic, but phone feels solid and durable at 170gram, it is quite heavy than Z3.
Blackberry leap is very attractive by its 5-inch display with BlackBeryy logo placed at bottom, volume control keys are played on right side and the power keys on top. The MicroSD port is located at bottom edge, left hand side slot houses a flap that hides the microsomes and microSD card slot. Back side panel is of plastic with 8MP camera, blackberry logo and speakers grill. 3.5mm headphones jack at top.
BlackBerry leap has 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash and 2MP front facing camera. It does alone users to switch between normal, time shift, panorama shooting modes.
the quality of pictures shot by rear camera is quite good and it captures 1080p HD video recording while front facing camera can shoot 720p video but picture quality of front camera is not that much good but it is handy for quick selfie or video call.
