Facebook Is Adding An Offline News Feed For Android And iOS: If you are a Facebook Mobile App user then you are not going to miss a single news feed from now on, even if you are offline. As Facebook is working on an offline news feed system for Android and iOS Facebook app users. According to Facebook’s blog post, it’s also working on offline commenting features too.

Using the Facebook offline news feed, users will be able to see posts from their loved ones even with extremely weak signal or slow internet connection. How does this offline news feed system works? Well, most of us don’t check-out each and every post on our wall. Facebook will use this data and ranks those unseen posts according to relevance and push them through your feeds. So now you won’t be needed to wait for those posts to load when you are using a slow internet connection. As your FB App has downloaded those unviewed posts in background when you were in fast connection and next time when you access Facebook, it will show them according to relevance in slow internet.

As I have already mentioned, Facebook is working on offline commenting too. You might be knowing that liking and sharing option has been made available with previous update. You can write comment on any story you want using Facebook App and it will post automatically as soon as good internet is available.

Facebook is showing this much interest in offline features because of its Global internet connectivity plan. In a blog-post Facebook said,”People are coming online at a staggering rate in emerging technology market, and in most cases they’re doing so on mobile via 2G connections. So these new features will help users, with poor internet connection to stay in contact with their friends and family.” Now whether you are using a slow 2G  connection or traveling through subway, you can access Facebook anywhere.

Offline news feed and offline commenting features will be tested and rolled-out slowly for getting feedback from users. Facebook didn’t announce any specific date for the release of these offline feature updates for iOS or Android.
