Yahoo will Warn Users About Hacking Attacks: California-based America multinational technology company, Yahoo Inc promises to alert its users in the event they strongly suspect that your account may have been targeted by a state-sponsored actor. The company took the step in an effort to keep their users safe in this era where a growing number of hacks, breaches and leaks are occupying media real estate.

Signifying that cybersecurity is more top of mind than ever, Yahoo’s team holds the security and safety of users at the highest esteem.  Yahoo’s new policy is meant to help internet users take applicable measures to shield their accounts and devices in light of these sophisticated attacks.

Far from pioneers in this practice, Yahoo is latest as the hosts of other tech companies like search giant Google and social networking sites Twitter and Facebook have earlier announced similar alert informing their users of potential attacks. The notifications will provide targeted users with specific actions they can take to help ensure that their Yahoo accounts are safe and secure.

Yahoo hasn’t revealed whether any incident has inspired to change the policy, with the owner simply writing “In order to prevent the actors from learning our detection methods, we do not share any details publicly about these attacks.
