Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 line announce for launch at CES

Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 line announce for launch at CES: Alcatel OneTouch has unveiled a new series, the Pixi 4. The line includes a 3.5-inch and a 4-inch smartphone, a 6-inch phablet and a 7-inch tablet, all powered by Android. While the specs were not totally revealed outside of the screen sizes, the manufacturer calls them “premium entry-level devices.” Alcatel says that the line offers the best feature set and design in the low-end of the smartphone and tablet market. The manufacturer points out that the devices each offer a superior camera and battery life.

Besides the phones, phablet and Android-powered tablet, there will be an Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 Windows tablet. This slate comes with an 8-inch screen, and is powered by Windows 10 Mobile. Alcatel also announced the CareTime Children’s Watch. The wearable actually has something in common with the original Apple iPhone. It runs on EDGE (2G). But the device doesn’t need to run over a zippy 4G LTE pipeline.

With the CareTime Children’s Watch, parents can leave voice messages for their kids, or call them. The kids can call using five registered phone numbers, or answer calls from ten preset contacts. This way you know that your kids aren’t calling or receiving calls from people they shouldn’t be talking with. The watch also allows a parent to set up a “safe zone” powered by the GPS feature on the timepiece. When a child leaves the safe zone, the parent immediately receives a notification.

These devices will be on display in Las Vegas during CES, starting on Wednesday. We should get a fuller list of specs, including pricing and availability, during the week. Stay tuned!
