Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the world’s first smartphone to feature optical fingerprint recognition

Samsung is believed to turn around in terms of hardware in its new upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. As suggested by a recent report that display of the smartphone will be curved on the top and bottom edges and is going to be a truly full screen. The rumors from China suggest that Samsung Galaxy S8  will be the world’s first ever smartphone to be equipped with optical fingerprint recognition technology. That means the company will need not to place the fingerprint scanner below the home button.

According to rumors about the phone, Samsung may make a huge leap and integrate the fingerprint scanner insde the display itself. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. An optical fingerprint scanner works when the finger is placed on the phone’s screen or the glass display.

This new feature is not implemented by any phone till now which makes Samsung Galaxy 8 with first of its kind, the best part is optical fingerprint scanner is faster and more accurate than the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The new handset is still three months away.
