- According to AndroidCentral, Google has been working on this feature from last year. They even published an article confirming that the changelog update is being rolled out “Latest Google Play Store version brings in-line changelogs to app updates“. But maybe due to some issues that update didn’t come but now Google has overcome, whatever the issue was and released this new feature.

Google Play Store Introduces Drop-down Changelog for Available App Updates
The layout change was first notified by Play Store user named George Burduli. This new layout is way more comfortable and convenient for users as you don’t have to go from individual app pages to check the update details. We also wan to mention that the change is made on server end and you won’t have to update your Play Store app for this feature. The Google Play Store version will stay same if it was v9.4.30 then it will stay the same. According to the source, the v9.4.18 is also supporting the changelog feature as it is only a novelty feature.
