You must be wondering, how many Android users have got Android 8.0 Oreo after 8 months of release? And when will your handset get the Android Oreo update? Well, the stats are out about the answer to your first question, the figure stands below 5% even after so long period. The Android Oreo was released back in August 2017. The latest version of Android could not find its way to hands of the maximum of the user base. Seems like people at Googleplex are going through busy days.

How Many Android Users Have Got Android 8.0 Oreo After 8 Months Of Release, Less Than 5% Android Users

Google released these latest stats with only a small progress of 0.5% in Oreo Android users base. Which barely qualifies as “progress” for the Android kind of OS. Last time we have seen such data in February which was showing the Android 8.0 Oreo users increasing by 4.1% since then Google has not shared any stats until three days back. The data shows that only 0.5% of smartphone users have got access to Android 8.1 Oreo version which is kind of exclusive to a very small customer base.

As of today, the Android Nougat users are on top of the list of the Android distribution table by capturing 30.8% of smartphone and tablet users. Whereas Android Marshmallow is at second rank with 26% users and Lollipop at the third place with 22.9%.

Android Version Share Stats As Of April 2018

Let us have a look at comparison table stats for April 2018 Android user shares in comparison to February 2018 data:

If you look at this table then you can see that even Jellibean is doing better progress in following month over Android Oreo version. Also, if you go into detail stats then you will realize that a percentage of this 4.6% share are using custom ROMs to experience Oreo 8.0 and not officially. So the concluding statement will be the situation for Android Oreo is very critical when Android P previews are already out. Google really has to take big initiatives to get Android Oreo updates to users.
