If you want to feel the nostalgia or you are just a fan of hardware keys instead of touch buttons then a new option has just been launched at Mobile World Conference (MWC 2019). F(x)tec’s Pro1 showed up for the first time at MWC which will cost around $649 in the USA.

A closer look at the Slider F(x)tec’s Pro1 smartphone

The Pro1 Slider will cost as much like the BlackBerry KEY2 smartphone which is already there in the market.

Everybody is talking about foldable smartphone these days and even manufacturers are competing to launch the foldable earliest. But still, like Blackberry, there is a UK based mobile manufacturer F(x)tec who thinks there is still a market waiting for slidable mobiles with a physical keyboard.

As I mentioned earlier F(x)tec launched Pro1 at Mobile World Congress 2019 which is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. F(x)tec is available for pre-order now in USA, UK and across Europe. The cost of Pro1 is fixed at $649 in the US, £649 in the UK, and €649 in Europe. F(x)tec is also offering a free pair of Limited Edition F(x)tec earphones & F(x)tec Pro1 mobile case totalling the offer value to $30 | £30 | €30.

F(x)tec Pro1 features a high-end OLED display which slides-out at 155 degrees for a good view while working on it in landscape mode. The keyboard has 5 rows of backlit 64 keys which are easily accessible.

The Pro1 sports 5.99 inch AMOLED OLED display which has a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system and packed with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. It also features 8MP selfie camera at the front and dual 12MP and 5MP cameras at the rear which can capture a video in 4K at 30fps.

Instead of following the trend of on-screen fingerprint sensor F(x)tec installed a fingerprint reader in a side-mounted button. Also, it has been installed with all the crucial sensors any regular user would expect. It boasts a decent of 3,200mAh which shall facilitate 10 hours of talk time and 20 days of standby time.

In an interview F(x)tec co-founder and director Adrian Li Mow Ching said, “Our ideal handset is a modern smartphone, combined with elements that we miss from the past.”

He also added, “To us, the folding phone proves that there’s a change in trends in the market – people want to get away from just a single slab.”

“And we’re providing an alternative. But actually, ours is a tried-and-tested alternative, something we know that works, something that gives us enjoyment when we use it.”

We would really like to appreciate the guts of F(x)tec people but still what kind of response they will receive with slidable Pro1 is still in future’s pocket.

Don’t Miss
