Google Daydream Keyboard for VR Now Available for Android: Google at its hardware event earlier this month unveiled the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. Along with it also showcased company’s second virtual reality headset, Daydream View VR headset. The Google Daydream VR headset would cost at $79 and will require a Daydream-compatible smartphone to work.

Although the Daydream VR platform isn’t available to the user yet, Google has already released Daydream keyboard app for download onto the Play Store. The Daydream Keyboard is an attempt to bolster its virtual reality ecosystem that will help in VR typing in all Daydream apps.

If you’ve never used a VR keyboard before, you can try your hands on Samsung’s Gear VR to get familiar with it. What actually is in VR keyboard, is a dot that remains in the center of your view of the headset, which is actually a cursor. Then, to input a character the user points their head onto each individual letter and finally touches the touchpad on the Gear VR headset.

The Google Daydream Keyboard layout is similar to Google Keyboard that comes stock on Nexus devices, as well as this year’s Moto smartphones.

Even though Google has made you available with the Daydream Keyboard, you might not be able to install it. As the Daydream Keyboard for Android will only work in Daydream-ready phones, and that clearly indicates that the app will work in Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones as of now. But if you’re a Huawei-made Nexus 6P owner, you may be pleased to find that the Daydream Keyboard is installable

The Daydream View VR headset is built out of wearable fabrics and Google claims it to 30 percent lighter than similar headsets available. The headset also boasts an auto-alignment system for phones that are compatible with it. The Daydream View controller is embedded with sensors that are capable of  comprehending movements and gestures of the user.

The Daydream View headset will be available in the Play Store, Verizon, and Best Buy stores starting in November in the US. It will be available in Crimson, Slate, and Snow colors. The people who have  pre-ordered the pixel phones in the US will get free Daydreams View units as announced by Google.
